Nursery location temporarily moved
Due to water damage from some sort of leak, the Nursery is temporarily located in the room behind Sanctuary. There has been water in the nursery during the recent heavy rains, and until the carpet can be cleaned and deemed safe, the nursery will be held in the Cry room.

Scholarships!
Each year the church seeks to offer scholarships to graduating seniors who are active church members or whose parents are active church members. The church also offers extended scholarships to help in future years, again to active church members. Applications and qualifications are available in the church office for anyone interested in applying for a scholarship. Deadline for applying is May 1, 2012.
Still Needed - Substitute Sunday School Teachers!
One of the ways you can serve God is by signing up to be a substitute Sunday School Teacher. We have a wonderful, dedicated group of teachers at FUMC, but occasionally they need to tend to other matters. Substituting is a short term commitment that says you care about our people.

Taking Care of God’s House
Simple things you can do to
insure that God’s house is in order and to show you care about your church!
Tidy the Pews: Take your bulletins, gum and candy wrappers with you! Trashing out the pews is not attractive to visitors, or anyone else for that matter. Replace hymnals and bibles, pens and pencils.
Clean up clutter: As you enter or as you leave the sanctuary, look around to check on things. Are bathroom doors closed? Pull it to! Are table cloths messed up? Straighten them. Are the registration binders in a neat stack? Do you see anything on the floor?
Cry room: Stick you head in the Cry Room and help keep it neat!

Do you shop at Office Depot?
Ask the cashier to ‘Apply this purchase to the advantage card for Elkhart First United Methodist Church’. They will ask you the for the phone number of the church. All purchases go toward earning the church rewards and these can be used in the purchase of office supplies. No cost to you, but big savings for the church!
Last quarter the church received over $30. Thanks for those of you have been helping the church!
